Overview Need Based Scholarships

The Kentucky YMCA Youth Association is a not-for-profit organization committed to ensuring access to our programs to all interested students. Scholarships (formerly known as financial aid) for KY YMCA programming are available.  The Board of Directors of the Kentucky YMCA has designated contributed funds to ensure those unable to pay the stated fees are able to participate in the wide range of teen programs offered by this Association.

• In order to be considered for a scholarship, a student and their parent or guardian must fully complete and submit the Need Based Scholarship Application through our online portal.
• Scholarship applications will close two weeks before each program registration deadline (exact dates for KYA and KUNA Sessions can be found on the program pages.
• Scholarships may not be awarded retroactively for events that have already been registered for prior to application approval and no prior funds paid will be refunded.
• Need-Based Scholarship applications may take up to 10 business days to process.
• All information on this form is strictly confidential.

Important: Needs based scholarships are awarded as percentage discounts. These discounts are valid for all KY YMCA Programming during the school year awarded July 1  - June 30.
