What Students Have to Say ...
"Wow. I cannot even put into words how blown away I am by this conference. I’m going to be honest. I was really scared for this year. As the conference began to draw near, I was afraid that it wouldn’t be the same or that I would let someone down. However the energy, care, and passion of this group of people has inspired me. The perseverance and strength I have seen have reminded me that what ties this community together is passion, and an inherent desire to make this world a better place. The passion of the other presiding officers up here with me has amazed and enlightened me. Thank you guys for everything."
Arden Ensor, KYA Participant
Student Program Areas
At KYA, students participate in one of the Program Areas at the Assembly based on their grade and experience. Each area is led by Presiding and Supporting Officers, with a variety of Delegate Roles available to participants.
Use of AI at KYA
Due to the increased use of AI, the Kentucky YMCA Youth Association recognizes the valuable role AI can play in enhancing learning and streamlining tasks. We encourage our students to rely on their own creativity and critical thinking when writing speeches, bills/resolutions, and developing materials for KYA and KUNA. Using AI tools for inspiration or research is fine, but we believe that the most impactful work comes from personal effort, originality, and genuine engagement with the material. By doing so, you’ll not only hone your skills but also create authentic content that reflects your unique voice and perspective.
