2027 DETAILS
- Registration Closes: Friday February 26
- Y-Corps Institute: April 17, 2027 from 10AM - 4PM EST (Whitaker Family YMCA in Lexington, KY)
- Service, Fundraising, and Service Focus Deadline: June 14, 2027
- Students will each participate in one summer service trip, date options are:
- Out of State 1: July 3-10, 2027
- In State: July 11 - 17, 2027
- Out of State 2: July 18 - 25, 2027
FUNDRAISING AND SERVICE
Once you've registered, fundraising and service hour work begins! These two key pillars of the Y-Corps program have accompanying goals for all students, based on their year in the Y-Corps program. Goals are outlined below:
Fundraising (through Donor Box)
- 1st Year: $400
- 2nd Year: $600
- 3rd/4th Year: $750
- Captain: $1,000
Service Hours (through Mobile Serve)
Goals must be met by midnight on Sunday, June 14, 2027.
If you have any issues meeting your fundraising/service goals, you must communicate to a Y-Staff member no later than 2 weeks prior to the due date to be able to address that. If you do not meet your goals, you may not be able to attend the trip.
SERVICE FOCUS PROJECT: MAKING A LASTING IMPACT
True service is about going beyond volunteerism and creating long-term, meaningful change. Your Service Focus is your chance to contribute deeply to a community, working with one organization to advocate for and serve its needs. This project allows you to create or join an ongoing effort that maintains the important narratives of the people and places you serve.
Key Info:
- 10 - 20 hours of your 50-hour minimum.
- Choose an organization you're passionate about and collaborate with them to identify how you can contribute in a continuous and impactful way.
- Complete this project by June 14, 2027, and document your hours on MobileServe
- Once you complete your Service Focus hours, you’ll reflect on your experience by submitting a Google Form. Also linked below, for those who want to get a head start!
SUMMER SERVICE TRIPS
The program culminates in a multi-day summer service trip, where students travel to different communities, serving alongside local organizations and deepening their understanding of social responsibility. Below are dates for our summer service trips:
- Out of State 1: July 3-10
- In State: July 11 - 17
- Out of State 2: July 18 - 25
Important things to note:
- Students have the opportunity to share your availability when you register for Y-Corps. Please note, however, that we do not assign trips (in-state or out-of-state) until after registration closes. While we do consider scheduling requests, we do not guarantee space availability.
- All dates are subject to change within the date windows listed in the charts above. All trips are dependent on enrollment numbers. Please be aware that the trip may be cancelled if an insufficient number of students are enrolled.
- Out of state trip locations will be announced with trip assignments.
- Locations and assignments will be announced via email in April 2027 .
