2008 CONA Dates: June 28-July 3
Selected delegates from Kentucky debate their peers from across the country at the weeklong event held at the YMCA Conference Center in beautiful Black Mountain, North Carolina. National Affairs was created in 1968 as a way to bring together teens from America's Youth in Government and Model UN programs. State Officers, outstanding speakers, and exceptional proposal presenters from 35 states will assemble to present and debate current issues in this unique environment. Each of the nearly 500 delegates must submit a proposal on a matter of national or international concern.
Cost and Pre-requisites: The cost of this years's conference is $485, which includes transportation, lodging, meals at the conference, and program costs. Additional funds in the amount of $30-$40 would be needed for meals to and from the Blue Ridge Conference and incidentals students may wish to purchase on the mountain. Registration is limited to 25 delegates and will be based on a first-come, first served basis, with upperclassmen having top priority. Attending CONA is among one of the highest honors recognized by the YMCA throughout America. If you are an upperclassman and served on the Leadership Team or as an elected officer, or received a speaking award at Sr. KYA or Sr. KUNA and do not receive your invitation to CONA, please contact the office today at 502-227-7028.
